I left home after breakfast at about 9:15 A.M., drove to Waterdown and parked beside the mausoleum in the pioneer cemetery. I immediately noted the fresh gravesite for Great-Uncle John Russell McGregor beside the short gravel road, and took photographs.
Turning my attention to the gate and door, I noted that the casing on the outer gate lock was no longer there in comparison to the intact door lock. I saw some rust at the key hole of the gate lock due to the fact that the weather cap had no way to be snapped closed. I placed both locks on the hood of the car and took pictures of the vandalism before I spent 10 minutes or so with the tat-tail file on the hole of the receptacle for the gate lock.
My cleaning supplies for the paint splatters on the door included a steel wool SOS soap pad, some CLR cleaner, COMET cleanser, Tri-sodium Phosphate, rubber gloves, water and absorbent paper towels. The steel wool soap pad and CLR worked remarkably well, and nothing stronger was needed for this preliminary scrub.
Cement work at the door should be listed for future repair.
